FAQ

Where can I use it?

It stands on its own stable 4-point base beside the toilet, a chair, recliner, or wheelchair — nothing to clamp or attach. It was invented first for use while on the toilet, and works just as well for general seated rest and recovery.

Who is it for?

It's built for amputees and people with limb differences who need a comfortable, secure place to rest a residual limb — and it helps with other leg injuries too.

How tall does it adjust?

The post adjusts from about 13.25" to 22" and locks securely, so the cradle meets your limb at the right height. The cradle itself is 6" wide.

Which size is right for me?

Measure your thigh above the knee with a tape measure, then pick the smallest size that's comfortably bigger. Small comfortably fits up to 14", Standard up to 20", XL up to 30".

Can I get any color?

Yes. Every rest is made to order. Choose one of our colors, or pick “Build your own” and choose a color for each part — saddle, outer shaft, inner shaft, base, and lock lever — and see it before you buy.

Can you print a design or image on it?

Yes — images can be printed into the rest as well. It takes a little more time and material, so custom-image orders may cost a bit more. Ask us what you have in mind.

How fast will it ship?

Orders ship in under two weeks, since each one is 3D-printed to order.

Is it easy to move?

Yes — it's lightweight, easy to position, and folds up so it travels with you.

How do I care for it?

No special care is needed. The one thing to avoid is leaving it in a hot vehicle, as high heat could potentially warp it.

Is this a medical device?

No. AmputiEase is a comfort and support aid, not a medical device.

Where is it made?

In the USA, by a veteran-owned and operated family business — each one printed by hand, one at a time.

Do you ship outside the US?

Yes. Shipping is charged by region and shown at checkout before you pay — $45 to Canada and Mexico, $65 to the UK and Europe, $75 to Australia and New Zealand, $85 elsewhere. Customs duties and import taxes charged by your own country are not included and are paid by you, usually to the carrier on delivery.

What if it doesn't work for me?

Try it for 30 days. If it isn't right for you, send it back for a full refund of the purchase price — you don't even have to keep it unused to qualify. If it arrives damaged in shipping, that's covered too — send us a photo and we'll make it right. Damage caused after it reaches you isn't covered by the refund.

Can I help someone else get one?

Yes — you can sponsor a leg rest for someone who needs one but can't afford it. Visit our Sponsor a Leg Rest page to chip in, or Request a Leg Rest if you're the one who needs it.
